Located in the Northern Peninsula of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador, St. Anthony is small populated fishing settlement discover by Jacques Cartier in 1534. St. Anthony boasts so much history dating back to the early 1900's when Sir Wilfred Grenfell arrived. Grenfell was said to be the first doctor to reach the region. He would later establish a string of hospitals, cooperatives and schools for people in remote Newfoundland and Labrador towns. Sir Wilfred Grenfell's work is commemorated by several sites and museums that has become a beacon for many tourists throughout the world.
